Ok so I pulled the Dash apart to check my PIE...it was locking up the stereo. I unplugged it and plugged it back in now it reads No Aux. I am thinking that the Stereo is bad. Anyone else have any issues with this?
Also my uncle has an 05 F-150 with the same PIE that I have, it worked in his and his PIE didnt work in my truck. The only thing I didnt swap was the PIE wire Harness. I called PIE direct and they said there were no know issues with it.
Is there anyway that I can check the AUX side of the factory radio with a scan tool or should I just buy a new radio from Ford?
I like the factory radio, its a six disc and has steering wheel controls.
The Aux feature worked for a few months but now doesnt.
Im sure you've probably done this, but you may want to check the power connections to the PIE (if it has one). My PIE has pos and neg leads to it. I have it spliced into the power point wiring. If there is no power to the PIE, the stereo won't acknowledge it's connection.
If the radio is bad, I would check ebay or craigslist for another factory radio. I bought one off ebay for my expy for next to nothing. The stealerships tend to break it off in ya...
There is no fuse in the PIE wiring harness. I didnt want to remove radios cause he has a single CD with cassette and I have a Six Disc. Shouldnt make a difference other than I now have my truck all back together. I did check to see if it had power and ground as I also spliced into the Power Point. I will recheck it. If not I think my premium care warranty will cover it. Just trying to narrow it all down before I let the dealer look at it.
