My truck is 6 years old now, and I am looking more and more at the common failure points as parts age (Yes the factory batteries failed last week and got me thinking about this)
There seem to be several aftermarket options to replace the cold side pipe which seems to be a common failure as the factory plastic ages. Anyone have experience with these as far as which is better? A quick search online shows options from S&B, Sinister Diesel, SPE and others all available for roughly similar prices. Is it just a matter of which 'bling' you prefer or do any of them offer advantages over the others?
For the cold side pipe you have varying levels of bling, but also different materials being used. When the time comes, I might go with the H&S motorsports silicone pipe. Some of the metal variants look "cooler" to me but I was thinking the silicone type might provide better thermal characteristics (probably a non issue), and also has less joints.
If I wanted a metal pipe, Sinister Diesel's look pretty nice.
