For a couple of years I have been using a Beck/Arnley two speed switch. Lately it has been activating late, so I thought I should be prepared with a replacement. I'm wondering if there is a type of thermo switch that is recognized as being reliable/dependable? I run a 195* thermostat. My fans activate at 210*. I was considering using a BMW switch, but found bad reviews online. Pls let me know.
BTW, I know all about Autocoolguy devices and such. I would rather have a $40 part fail than a $240 part that requires postage to replace. Cheers.
I had an '85 T-bird, we were going to NASCAR events a lot, long steady lines of traffic on hot days going and coming, bumper to bumper for long periods, AC running too. It had a clutch fan, but I added a toggle switch controled pusher in front of the condenser. It helped both engine temps and AC output temps in those lines of traffic.
Just an idea, my '95 Thunderbird's e fan has worked flawless since it was new, and if it gets really hot outside, flipping the AC to Max runs it steady.
Are you in the US, noticed you signed cheers so figure you may be in a different country. Mechanical readily available switches are a good idea. Don't have a ton of experience for you. Many of the switches I've used in other applications activate at higher temps
