Hi
has anyone changed a servo valve on a C6 transmission? And what is the difference between a D servo and a R servo?
I have a C6 with a 390 from a 1968 Ford LTD with the letter D on the servo cover.
the problem I’m having is the 2nd to 3rd shift I have to let off the gas to get it to shift into 3rd, and then , it is a solid shift there is no slipping, and 1st to 2nd is a normal shift up and down, by what I’ve read the problem is the servo valve.
Rock auto sells the kit but it’s only has the R servo.
I have the vacuum coming off the intake manifold.
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
i do have a new rubber line going Modular valve I think I’ll try to change it to a metal line next.
it was a used transmission that came with the motor, motor was rebuilt.
You need to be careful with R servos and what anchor numbers on other side of band. If you use the wrong anchor with the R you can break the case. You will have to get an expert on this and it's not me. Maybe this could help you Bad Shoe Productions How To Video Series - Ford Transmissions & Rears Never bought and no affiliation.
