Adjusting shift points on C6

My newly installed C6 shifts from 1st to 2nd within 500rpm.

Is there some way of adjusting these shift points externally?

A later shift can be obtained by adjusting the modulator valve.

It's my general understanding that you can unplug the vacuum hose to the vacuum modulator and stick a (allen?) wrench inside and adjust the shift points.

My question is which way do you turn the wrench to make the trans shift LATER, and how far do you turn the wrench to achieve those results?
