Check guage light
The Check Gage indicator lit up about a thousand miles ago on my 2002 diesel F350 dually. All the gages, visually, seem to be operating just fine and the truck's performance hasn't changed as far as I can tell. The truck only has 125000 miles on it and about 75% of those miles were carrying a heavy 11' camper and towing an 18 foot boat full of gear.
I'd like to make the light go away but don't have a good idea where to start troubleshooting. I spent some time searching threads hoping to find someone with a similar problem but came up short.
I think it's kind of odd that I've never seen that light before on any of the Ford diesels I've owned and/or driven since the 1980's....
Any advice would be appreciated.

Pull all codes and record them, clear all codes, run all tests on FORScan and record all codes, take it for a drive and record all codes again.
You will get your answer. With the codes we can help.
Apparently the idea behind it is indicator is to get the operator to look at the gauges and take action... According to the owners manual.
My problem is my gauges appear to be working just fine... needles all pointing in the normal range and the truck drives great...
(Just for grins i forced a code and then cleared it. The CEL came on and went off when I cleared the DTC but the irksome "Check Gage" didn't react to any of that).
They didn't even ask me if I wanted the display replaced since its an 'obsolete' part. Me? One of these days I'll pull the display and disable the light.
. I decided to post an answer to my question because it bugged me that I couldn't find anybody talking about a similar problem in this forum or any other.
