Hello all. I am having major issues with vapor lock on a 79 F150 that had a 460 swapped in from a 351M.
My question is: the vapor canister was removed before I bought the truck. Is the vent valve in the rear mounted tank able to be used for a fuel return line? I know it has a check valve to keep fuel in, but can I use it to return fuel? Thanx for any help.
Dave
I believe the "roll over valve" / ESS valve is really only made to let fumes out, not sure about fluid in. There are some threads where FTE members added EFI and ran the return line into the tank vent line, next to the gas filler neck line.
I see there is a kit made for piping into the filler pipe, it’s almost $70.00. I am hoping to get an answer on the vent valve without having to drop the tank, as I just filled it. It would be convenient to put a 3 port fuel filter in place of the one I have and just run fuel hose to that 1/4” vent line. I tried suction on it but didn’t get anything. Thanx for the help.
