I don't have AAA but was going to get their premier membership plan to give me the 200-mile tow. However, I would have to wait 48 hours before I could call for a tow, and I would have to be at the vehicle. The person who quoted me $337 has not responded to me, and the seller is still irate. I have contacted shipping companies, but they are all over $700. That is not possible. Has to be under $500 so I can use a credit card. May have to just cancel the sale.
I called the seller and told him to go ahead and refund the money I paid for the truck and gave him permission to sell it to someone else. He went online and found some shippers and gave them my email address. I found one who will tow the truck for $350. It was initially quoted at $300 but that was when they though it was operable. I agreed and gave them all the pertinent info. They will be out Wednesday or Thursday to pick it up. I am having it towed here so I can check it out (and because the mechanic has not answered any of my last 3 texts) but will have to tow it to the mechanic within 3 days or lose it to that tow company that does random drive throughs here. this should get the seller off my back, so I am not stressing out so much. LOL
There are students who are more proficient in math. In order for them to be more proficient, there are students who are less proficient. Just like in a foot race, in order for one runner to be faster, the other runner has to be slower.
Instead of trying to help the less proficient students by providing extra learning, the solution is to simply take away teaching from the more proficient students. If we can dumb down the smart kids, the world would be fair. That's like breaking the leg of a rival figure skater.
But here's the part that I didn't get. The San Francisco Unified School District is a self governing entity with an elected School Board, and a Superintendent. This is a political move. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is attempting to usurp the authority of The School Board. Why have a School Board at all, if the Board of Supervisors can operate The School District?
That is unreal. It is like giving trophies to everyone who participated instead of the winners. Makes no sense to remove a course because a certain ethnic group can't handle it.
Of course, it makes no sense that our leader of California would sign into law the gun and ammo tax, or doubling the time needed to get a CCW, or banning CCW holders from entering a church, or park, or amusement park with the firearms. Now the criminals have even more places they can go shooting people as they know nobody will be armed there to stop them. Since when do criminals care about the law? Why do you think they are criminals? I have already sent Mr. Newsom a letter (don't worry I was nice, no swearing) I can't wait for his reply.
At the end of the day, nobody cares about the kids. One group of politicians is appeasing The Woke voters. Another group of politicians is appeasing the voters whose children are denied a learning opportunity. What they really care about is campaign fund contributions. If anyone cared about the kids, it would be "better education for all". If there are kids who are not up to speed; let's get them up to speed.
You're right. Jim. Nothing makes sense. Now The Gavinator is going to debate DeSantis. Why does the Governor of California need to debate the Governor of Florida? Trump won't debate anyone. Biden is constantly talking and misspeaking.
Jim
I`m back in town. I have 5 houses east of Arnold and cell serv/ internet is spotty at best. My wife is in the hospital so that is my primary concern. At least her dad wathes our young kids.Tomorrow is no good but I can possibly be of help the following day, whatever that is
Prayers sent for your wife to make a full recovery. I have signed a contract, but if they have not picked it up within 5 days of their pickup date I can cancel without any penalties. Yesterday was the first day. The seller is livid and wants it out asap. He asked for the shipper's phone number. I have not heard from him since. Maybe that is a good thing. I am learning a lot about the car shipping industry. Everybody uses drivers from a driver's pool, and they put out bids to the drivers and wait for one to accept. Makes no sense to me to tell me they will ship it for $350, and then can't get a driver to agree to that. Especially when other companies place an offer for $450. Naturally the drivers want that and not $350. I'll never do this again.
Hank, if you can have it towed tomorrow, (Friday) after 2pm (the seller gets home at that time) I would greatly appreciate it. The company who gave me the $350 bid called today to tell me she has two drivers who can tow it today, but one wants $700, the other $600. I told the lady I can't do either one as I don't have that. I just paid $680 for the truck, and don't have another $700 just sitting around in my bank. She said she would continue to look for someone willing to do it for $350 but most drivers are on the east coast. No wonder they want so much. They would have to pay for gas (diesel) just to get to California. I will call you tonight in case you don't see this message in time.
Hank, Your mailbox is full and cannot accept any messages at this time. What about Saturday? that would be better for me because my mechanic would be home then too. Instead of towing it here you could tow it there, and I'll just meet the driver when he gets there. That is the address on Bond that I sent you in the PM.
TGIF Nor Cal. Going too down this weekend. However, the temps go up five degrees per day until it hits 92 by Thursday. I thought we were in fall, not summer.
