As with everything these days, someone will always be ready to rain on someone else's parade. The insider gossip, not reported in the news, is that there is a group of property owners who are complaining of noise pollution disrupting their quality of life.
A 2nd group, not related to the property owners, are claiming that this activity of faith and worship is discriminatory in nature as it does not serve the underserved communities of color. If you allow the worshipping of one faith, you have to provide an equitable activity for underserved communities of color to participate.
I guess Oakland's Your Black Muslim Bakery wants to sell bean pies and Final Call newspapers at the event.
A much smaller faction in opposition argues that public land is not to be used for any faith based activity, as it violates the separation of church and state. These people also want remove "under God" from The Pledge of Allegiance. Maybe even remove "In God We Trust" from our monetary system.
I am never moving to Oakland. No wonder the sports teams left.
Machine gun?!?!? That person doesn't know his guns. I bet they never get robbed LOL. I carry my CCW in my wallet so I always have it. No need to grab it. I think more businesses should do that. It would be a BIG deterrent for crime.
I remember when I bought the truck and went to Red Carpet to get it smog tested and washed it had 200,222 miles on it. I drove it this past Wednesday and it has 180, 000 miles on it. That is not possible. 20k miles disappeared while it sits in my carport? LOL
I think you might be on to something here. LOL Just because I was bored, I decided to check Craigslist yesterday for that Dodge Dakota I wanted to buy in Livermore. It is still there, and they still want $3995 for it. They also say 10 percent discount for cash. Yet they refused to finance it for me. I didn't even bother to fill out an app this time as I don't have the 50% they would ask for. So, I looked for 2005-2008 Ford
F-150's. Found one for $880 that had been burned in a fire when the car next to it caught on fire. Then I saw one the exact color of mine for $3,000 IIRC that needed a transmission and an intake manifold. Two items that work great on my truck. Problem is that is in San Jose. The tow bill would be too high. There was a white one cheap also, like $1,000 but it sounded like it has the same problem as mine. Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait. I joined more veteran's groups on Facebook so maybe I can get more donations to my Go Fund Me account.
Loaded the scooter into the bed of the truck and went to Winco this morning. Nine miles round trip. Took it out on the freeway for the first time since I owned it. Performed flawlessly. Tested the cruise control, worked great. Came home and parked it with no problems, even saw the brake warning light go off. Still, the CEL remained on. I don't get it. The engine sounds fine, no misfires, or coughing, and it has not done the dreaded sputtering in a while, yet the CEL refuses to turn off. I wonder if I should take it to the local Ford dealer. I know they are high in price, but I need to find out what is wrong with this thing. Maybe go to O'Rielly and have them scan for codes first though, I love driving it. No abnormal noise from the brakes when applied, no suspension creaks, nothing out of the ordinary except that random coughing and sputtering which has not happened the last two times I took it out, except right as I was pulling into the driveway last week.
