Both vent window motors have been sticking for awhile. It takes two people to open them ,one to push the switch and one to twist the motor. It only takes a slight twist before the motor kicks in. This is starting to bug me because I took it to the dealer and it works fine. Does anyone else have a problem or a fix for these windows? It's getting pretty hot and these windows are getting used more often.
Thanks, Jerry

Jerry, just for clarification...
The vent motor exhibits NO power until you give it a slight twist?
Do you think that they are having trouble "breaking" the seal between the window and the seal? Has that area been cleaned real good?
Do they close okay?
Is it BOTH windows? They both act the same way?
If the person doesn't twist the motor, what will happen?

You see, I have the same problem on my van. But I know for a fact that the motors are screwed up. Yours, since the problem is intermittent, doesn't seem so.
:7 I have had the exact same problem with the drivers side vent window. If you can get it to open and clean the rubber gasket and the inside of the window, it should take care of the problem. Hope this helps.
I agree with the others. I would bet it is the rubber seal. I have had the window stick but even more annoying was the rear hatch door. You would think the dang thing is glued shut it took a seriouse amout of effort from someone on the inside to push it open.
Dont use a cleaner with alcohol. That will dry out the rubber. I used a thin coat of petroleum jelly with success.
Well, both my windows are not working now. I have an appointment at the dealer for tomorrow. I still have 100 miles on my original warranty so I won't try to fix it myself just yet. I want the dealer to verify the problem. I'll post what they have to say. Jerry

I Finally had my actuators replaced, Now my windows work everytime, so far. Motor noise is about the same. My old motor linkage used to squeek, I don't know if the linkage was replaced or not but it is quiet now. I hope this was a bad batch of motors. I don't want to be replacing them every 2 years.
Sorry, didn't reply to your questions sooner,But I get busy.
With a hand on the motor when someone hits the switch you can feel a slight hum or buzz, not loud enough to to hear but you can feel it. there didn't seem to be any evidence of the windows sticking.
They always closed ok. Both windows acted the same but independently. I would just wait till they were both jammed before I would recruit some help. If you don't twist the motor it will just hum as I mentioned before.
Hopefully this is all fixed now. Thanks for all the replies.
