Hi. I am new to diesels, so admittedly a newbie. Have read that this year is not good. Anyways found a mechanic special engine knocking. Does it make sense to replace w another size diesel, if so are there many issues getting it to run right, for instance computer swap or a whole lot more issues ? I'll start reading the forum to get more familiar but hoping for some general ideas .... thks ...
If you're new to Diesels and like to read and get your hands dirty...........you found the perfect tool to learn on.
They are great trucks when running right. What was said by Ant above is very true. Availability and cost of parts are explosively a factor.
If your not in too deep already, you will be financially. It's just not worth it. If you need a Diesel that's one thing, if your just tinkering, look over your shoulder for trail cams because you'll be tinkering alot.
What did you pay for it and what truck did you get?
