Good morning. i have a 2009 6.4 with a little over 300,000 miles. it has never had one single issue until a few weeks ago. it will crank and run like a top until it gets up to temperature, then it just dies.. once it cools off, it will crank right back up and then die when it gets to temp. there are no codes showing up and i have changed the fuel pump/filter on the rail. does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you in advance..
It would be interesting to note at exactly what temperature the shut-down occurs. Also, while you have the scan tool on it to monitor the temperature, monitor EBP, MAP, FRP, ECM voltage, FR temperature, MAF, IAT, and IAT2. Hopefully that would give you a good place to start looking anyway.
I think there is a thread about four years old stating the same symptom.
I believe it was a reading within the PCM to the sensor differences in the engine O/T and the trans O/T.
If I recall, the delta was 45 degrees. Bang, shut down. Cool down. Perfect until up to temp.
