Would this be considered rare?

Would this be one of the rarer dent sides out there? I'm not looking to buy it but I've never seen an F250 step side. It's a 74 with a 300 I6 4spd 2wd.

Overall, here definitely were fewer flare sides than the fleet sides, and I think that bias is even worse on the F250's, but they are still not what I would call rare. Just a little harder to find. It's hard to be sure from this angle, but it looks like the standard short bed flare side. The longer (and far less common) 8 ft flare side in a F250, might be approaching the rare category.

Back then, flaresides were almost always exposed to work by utilities, industries, farmers construction, or the bed was replaced by a utility bed.

The center stake pockets on the bed sides is a clue to bed length.
In my area this bed would be nearly impossible to find.

No sure about the needs of clearance lamp on roof, be rarer if the roof isn't rusted off.

Was wondering about that. Thanks for the feedback! Definitely a short bed from the pictures. Guy wants 2k for it but I better not. I already have 3 trucks and all of them need attention (including a 76 F150)

Not super rare, but you don't see a lot of them.

In the collector car world, there are two important terms. " rare " and " desirable". ideally you have something rare and desirable. just desirable is still good. just rare is not worth much at all. these are rare but not desirable.

That is definitely not a short bed, No f250 Flaresides were short beds. Center stake pocket is a clue to long bed. step is another one. short bed one is only about a foot long.

Nice truck! Only thing that would make me jump on that 74 is if it was factory 4x4. That thing would be a beast. Here's my pride and joy...

I didn't know that. Thanks! I'm a big fan of the dentside but these trucks are so old it's like one person says this but the other says that. Hard to find anyone know a days who actually knows this stuff. Would make sense as I wouldn't understand why anyone would ever want a short bed standard cab F250. Talk about a rough ride and horrible towing.

Not a fan of flaresides but that thing has the look. Also don’t understand what people like about the funny lookin little beds on single cabs, do like the look on super/crew but bed space wins.

I have to agree. Maybe just me but I think the flaresides should've stayed in the 50's. The trucks are basically a brick so kind of throws me off when you got a somewhat curvy bed.
