94 F250 522 Code

I have a 1994 F250 5.8L with automatic transmission (E4OD). I was and am still getting error code 522. I have replaced the MLPS and still have the issue and sometimes it won't start in Park. What else would be causing error 522?

Corroded connectors, broken wires, broken terminals, mis-rigged MPLS, Sloppy linkage between the Shifter arm and the transmission.

Did you have the marks lined when you installed the new MLPS?

Yes the lines were marked correctly. I had replaced the computer, and I am trying to chase that down (getting conflicting part numbers), but could it be the computer I put in thinks it has a manual transmission? If I go and drive it, it seems really sluggish in Drive until I get up to speed(I think it's actually in 3rd), it drives better in 2nd and in 1st. I put the old computer (unmarked) in and it seemed to not start in 3rd when in Drive, but that PCM doesn't give me any error codes (has broken resistor, caps are fine). ref: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...l#post20951737

Tightened those last night, fixed the lever being loose, but no change in codes. Going to try and get a PA PCM based on your response in the other thread. Don't know how much a wrong computer does or doesn't affect these things.

Now that those screws are tight, check the rigging of the MLPS on the side of the transmission. Make sure everything lines up correctly.

Ok, everything is good on the MLPS. I have fully replaced the connector so the female pins are all new and free of corrosion. I have checked the pins at the PCM connector and get these resistances:
Park - 4100 ohms, N - 730 ohms, 1st - 87 ohms (all between pins 199 and 359). I don't have the exact results but I get similar numbers when testing the MLPS directly.

So I can actually put it in 1st gear and it will give me code 111 (it's automatic). After getting 111, I can start the truck (P or N) and then put it in 1, and can run codes. I don't know if it affects anything. Currently my OD button is disconnected, the wires were frayed and causing fuse 17 to blow so I just snipped the wires for now while I am replacing the shift lever.

What is going on?

Also, I tried a different PCM (ref: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...l#post20951737), but that gave me error codes about the 4x4, my truck is a 2WD automatic trans (codes: 633, 629, 624)

I have tried another PCM (same model as above), but this one seems to be working, getting error codes 622 and 629, so I'll check the wiring, etc and track down those issues, but transmission is working and can do KOER tests. This has gotten the truck to a usable state, now to start driving it and see how it actually drives on the road and if there are more issues.
