My 2008 f350 with a 6.4 started not wanting to go into park or 1st gear, and the clicks when you shift don't feel quite right in the shifter. Any ideas?
It doesn't have the bolts to tighten on column shifter like the older ones.
It will go into park if you really wiggle it or it rolls a touch from reverse.
Just started randomly.
I'm thinking maybe something with the shift cable but I'm not sure how it works.

So I went back out and messed with it some more, where the shift cable connects to the trans it's got a weird clip with a spring in it, and it doesn't seem to have enough pressure to get it back in park, if you push it the rest the way with your finger it pops in. Same for first gear. I dunno if it needs a new clip or what.
