Need E4OD help
1994 F250 460 E4OD 147,000 miles
Couple weeks back , while going up a grade heard a BANG under the hood. Stopped to investigate and think I found the air injection system blew a connection back at the firewall. It had already, some 11 months and 4,000 mile back, burned up the connections to the headers. Those rubber hoses have been plugged with bolts and hose clamps.
Anyway, now it has rough idle almost like a vacuum leak and the trans shifts very abruptly and had a noticeable exhaust smell in the cab. My mechanic got the exhaust leak stopped but read the codes and couldn't find anything else to fix.
The cat also has begun to rattle very noticeably.
Can the cat be stopped up and causing the idle and shifting issues ?

If the engine is down on power the trans will shift harshly.

I suggest checking on what the mechanic did. Read the codes and see if he ignored some of them. www.troublecodes.net/ford
