neutral safety switch
is there a way to add a neutral safety switch to a truck that didn't originally come with one?
is there a way to add reverse lights to a truck that didn't come with them? i know the '67 tail lights have the reverse light, and it will interchange with a '66 tail light. i just don't know how the wiring would work.

You could then get a tower from a 1967 or newer NP435 (assuming Crop Duster's assumption is correct here) which has the reverse lights switch built-in to it. The switch just provides a ground path for the backup lights.

These are some of what would be needed to do it like Ford did it. The other option would be to wire in a switch instead that you throw by hand when wanting to back up - or if wanting to freak out the driver behind you...

You could put a lighted switch on the dash with a magnet or velcro (trying not to have to drill holes) just in front of your fingers that would be easy to flip. Or somehow attach a switch to the shift lever near the ****. Also you could add a buzzer to remind you it's on.

i've been looking for a ford motor to put into the truck, but they aren't in my price range. unfortunately (or, fortunately) the LS motors are cheap and plentiful. and the aftermarket is ripe with parts.
i'm sure i just opened a can of worms.
