Straight Axle swap on 1986 f-1150

I've been doing some research on straight axle swapping my 1986 f-150, ive looked around and cant seem to find what is the best axle to actually put in there. I don't need something massive like a dana 60 and don't need the 8 lugs, I should be fine with my 5 (not running massive tires and don't do heavy towing ). Any recommendation on what is the best to put in there? and how? I would love to avoid spending a lot of $ but if that's what it is then ill do it.

Personally, I'd leave it the way it is if you're not doing anything super stressful, but that's me. To get even better answers than mine, you might want to ask the same thing over in the "1980 - 1986 Bullnose F100, F150 & Larger F-Series Trucks" forum. It looks like you've already got some conversations going over there regarding a motor swap etc. Those guys would be the right bunch to answer this as well.

Welcome aboard!
