Hi I bought a 1956 F250 with no front clip. I am getting close to assembling . I have all the sheet metal to put back together. I just don't have any bolts. Does anyone have an image of what bolts go where. i have lots of holes and no bolts. Thanks Mike
If you go to Mid Fifty, they have good diagrams of bolts, etc., that you will need to reassemble your truck. I took my 55 apart, and I will use all new bolts. As I recall, all the bolts were fine thread.
Mid Fifty even has the captivated nuts for the cab.
If you're not hung up on staying stock I'd go with fender bolts and flange head nuts. The original bolts are 5/16 X 3/4" fine thread. I ordered mine on line. I like the fender bolts because if you need to lengthen or enlarge the mounting holes their built in washer covers those spots.
You can save a bunch of money by going to a hard ware store some stores like Pate hardware has Ford Bolts. mid 50 like the guys said have kits for all the applications. This stuff is getting expensive, I had to replace a lot of Standard hard ware maybe I’ve spent $400.00 on bolts, washers, lock washers, large fender bolts, and nuts. 55 F-100AJ
C J Pony Parts has Ford logo fender bolts. They are made from 304 stainless steel and are 5/16-18, so they are not fine thread. I think they quit using fine thread bolts in the early 1970s.
When I get that far along, I may use them with zinc nuts and anti seize.
