Guys,, Just wondering about a 65---67 MEL Merc, Edsel, Lincoln engine.
Hard to find any info on them as they were only produced for a couple of years. Are they junk or powerful???
I am familiar with the 410, 460 but not 462.
Have an opportunity to purchase one with C6 for 500. Been sitting for 10 years in garage. covered.
HP, Torque info if you have any..
This would under the old "gross" rating system, so unless you have a way to dyno it the numbers are questionable. Ford and everyone else would sometimes make a number that sounded good.
Unless you have a Lincoln that needs it, the 429-460 is a better way to go.
Parts are said to be available and I found a water pump easily.
They had 10.5 or so compression. Unsure how the valves would last on unleaded gas.
C6? Double check that.
A hobby motor imo, if you're looking for that proceed. If you're looking for easy big power there are easier ways.
