It was similar to the harbor freight one but it was an autozone rental kit. Not too familiar on the types of flares but it flares out on both ends and seals
I did not see any cracks or holes of any kind on the old pipe, but it was leaking out of the fitting that goes to the pump. Both from the threads and from the center of it, no matter how much I tried resetting that end and making it as tight as possible it was still shooting out. Looking back on it I probably could have just used gasket maker on the old one but oh well. What’s done is done
I did use a flare nut wrench, that was the only one I had in 16mm surprisingly enough so I used that and another wrench pried between the two ports to keep myself from breaking the pressure fitting
Yeah I planned on saving it since the gasket on it was completely blown out on the top side I figured the pump was still good. Got my old radiator to rebuild, and my old master cylinder to do as well. Finally getting a nice collection of parts that need rebuilding. Maybe I’ll get around to it once I’m done putting new parts on this thing
Can anyone on this thread tell me whether it's ok to install an electric fuel pump under the hood as opposed to underneath the truck at the level of the fuel tank? The lines coming out of the fuel selector valve are a hard plastic or nylon material and I think they require a special tool, so I'd rather not mess with them.
