Save your money!!! When we use radar (instead of laser) it doesn't stay on constantly, so no radar signal is being sent out.
I went to a session of traffic school once which was taught by an LAPD motorcycle officer. He told us that he would sometimes drive his bike back to the station at night, on the freeway, with his radar gun switched on and aimed at the road surface. He said this caused many (apparently with radar detectors installed and switched on) to tap on the brakes. He would cruise along watching people react...
I hard wired my Valentine one into the visor light. As said before, the hook up is a standard telephone plug in and you use two of the wires, Don't worry about crossing the wires (neg and Pos) on hook up. The Valentine will not burn up. If you get no power the first time, just reverse/change wires around. Detects everything out there. had mine for several years and software upgrades are free/cheap (depending on model year of your unit).
They claim theirs is not because it doesnt generate a hew signal. It just creates noise in the waves bounced back. Really a mute point on their unit anyway since it doesn't work.
