Got a 2004 Ford excursion with 282k miles. Its always smoked pretty good since I've gotten it. Wanting to clean it up a bit. Especially for towing and not wanting to leave a cloud behind. It's got new stock size injectors and a kc stage 1 under 5k miles ago and is currently running srl tune. It's also has the normal 6.0 stuff done to it like studs, o-ringed heads, EGR delete, blue spring. I'm sure there is more but nothing that is any type of performance mod or anything. It runs amazing! Just quite a bit of smoke even under light acceleration. Even idling you can see a little smoke come out the exhaust. Anything to help diagnose and fix would be amazing!
If it doesn't pull any codes, hard to say. What color is the smoke? With the tune and other mods, maybe it's just overfueling. With the tune and other mods, along with some enthusiastic "amazing" driving, maybe it blew gaskets and you're seeing coolant steam. Do you have much blowback out the oil fill tube? Maybe rings and you're seeing oil.

No codes, black smoke, I doubt its the HG since I replaced them and the heads with o-ringed heads just probably 10-15k ago and I'm not losing any coolant. And it's not burning enough oil for it to be noticably losing oil and it's not blue any.
Even at idle today I had a significant amount of smoke.
Not much smoke at idle. Too much on accelerations.
I'm smoking at all times. Idle, light acceleration heavy acceleration, just smoke mostly all the time. Get pretty poor fuel economy to for about 95% highway driving at 65-70mph. About 12-13mpg.
Out of curiosity, take the excite wire by the passenger wheel well and touch it to the passenger positive battery terminal and crank the truck over (keys out of ignition). Do you have an even crank or does it flare or skip in places?

Seems to be an even crank. No skipping or anything.
