I was cleaning up the mirrors that were on the 72 f250 4x4 and had a question. Should there be a piece of rubber between the mirror arm and the door itself? Im guessing yes.
Here is a pic of the mirrors. The same mirrors as my 70 f250, but the truck is sitting at my dads house.
My Late Dad bought a brand new 1967 Ford F-100 camper special. And it had the big West Coast mirrors on it . If my memory is correct there was a small piece of rubber between the bracket and the door. About the exact same size as the bracket.
I found a video showing how to tighten the mirrors up so they dont move around and used that on everything. I had an empty gallon oil jug laying around and cut the flat area out to cut my pieces. I cut six for all the mounting points and drilled them all the same time. Also cut six for the clamps so everything wouldnt move once mounted.
Passenger side done.
None of my hardware that was on the truck is the original style but its mounted.
