Just keep your eye on eBay, they have a lot of them up for auction at different times. I just bought a Manik bar, used, for my '98 Expy, paid $150 for it. It needed a bit of work and some paint, but it's really nice and a lot less than the new bars at over $600!!! HINT: enter "brush gaurd" in the search, the spelling error is common and might help you find a nice guard! Tim
Are you sure you want to decrease your mileage, make your Expy harder to clean, and make your ride more front end heavy than it already is by adding all that hardware on the front end?
I'll give you the scoop friday - I hope to receive and install it then. I think the picture there is an installed model. (on their website) I got the 7 pc version mainly because they don't offer a 1 peice or 3 peice for a 1998 exp 4x4

Tyger,
I picked mine up from the seller, I drove 2.5 hours to get it, talked to the guy for 20 minutes and then drove back again! Looonnngggg day! The Manik guard I bought is one piece, many of the bars out there today are not. The bar must weigh about 150+, I could just lift it myself to move it around. Check out the eBay auctions for the different guards and see how much shipping is on them, it might be a good guide as to how much your guard will run you to have it shipped. The newer bars are shipped in several packages, that way they can use a ground carrier like UPS, etc... instead of a truck line. The only thing I have against the multi-piece bars is the construction can be (on SOME makes) very weak, looks great, just don't hit anything with it... BUT, that's my opinion, your mileage may vary...
Just to note, did you notice the eBay link in the posting above? Did you see how the seller spelled "guard" wrong? Make sure you do searches under that misspelling, they do it all the time and you may be able to get a nice guard cheap that way! Okay, I'm dreaming but, hey, you never know...
I like the bar, looks awesome, but it does have drawbacks as the other poster mentioned. I do notice a sway/lumber feeling in the front end that wasn't there before, and the headlight cover bars will make cleaning the headlights a bitch. As far as drag and gas consumption, the damn things suck gas like a hog anyway, so who's to know how much "extra" it will cost to have the thing on the truck???
