I don't think mine weighs 150lbs. It is a one piece as well.

Frizzle,

Shoot me an e-mail. I have one for sale. I can send you the pics of it. I have it listed on e-bay currently, but if you like it I can pull it and sell it to you. My e-mail is on my profile.

The one I ordered looks good in the box but doesn't fit perfect. I'm working with the company to determine which part is the problem.

Ok here's mine installed... I ordered from www.dealsofsteel.com - I won't say it's the best on the market... or the easiest to install (although it wasn't THAT hard). I did have to make a couple modifications to the guard. I had to increase the size of a couple bolt holes because they weren't drilled properly. Otherwise I wasn't impressed with the way all the parts fit together - it seems like the horizantal bars between the two "uprights" were slightly different lengths. Then on the middle horizantal pole there are two tabs with bolt holes and they are unused - why are there tabs on there?!?! My guess is aftermarket lights.

Anyways, $322.81 total after shipping isn't bad.

did you have to drill holes on your truck to make it fit?

No, it works fine just had to "adjust" it a little.. Honestly it's a steal for the price.. The 2wd and 4wd are different, but the 4wd bolts on between the tow hooks and the frame. All together I'm happy with the purchase.. I guess I'm not used to buying the "cheap" stuff and anticipate the minor mods to the product.

FWIW, my brother got a delightfully "urban" brush guard on his Expedition. I learned 4 things:
  • It's impossible to clean both the guard and the grill behind it. It always looks filthy. Somehow the rappers do it, but we can't figure it out.
  • Headlight bulbs are now a real pain to replace.
  • It adds plenty of wind noise on the highway.
  • It looks odd. I don't know what it is, but they just look kinda funny with the cowcatcher on the front. But, whatever makes your beagle bark, right?

That said, Ebay is probably your best bet. I can't see shelling out $600 for something that obviously doesn't cost that much to produce. You can save a significant chunk of cash by getting it from Ebay.

Good luck!

I do agree it adds tons of wind noise on the highway, I wasn't sure what was causing it.. I would say the first point depends on the guard, mine has plenty of room between the guard and the actual front end of the car .. honestly too much room.
