Gosh, I hope so! I was thinking it would. My dealer told me it would, but we all know how that goes.
That feature looks useful. When we camp, the tailgate it always down it seems. With tons of kids and dogs all around, I want all the safety features I can find. Plus hooking up to gooseneck it would be nice to have the sensors, but not needed. I like the in bed camera.
Pretty sure the Lariat only comes with a remote release tailgate. The power tailgate (up and down) only comes with KR and up.....and the tailgate down camera only comes with the power tailgate.

Can confirm, just picked up my Job 2 Lariat Ultimate yesterday and there is no tailgate down camera/sensors and the tailgate only releases by remote, will not go back up on its own
Not mine. Dealer said I need to buy the aftermarket shock BS and install it if I want that. My last 3 trucks had the soft open feature. I think they left it off of my new truck. Thoughts?

Yep, they either forgot to install it on the line, installed it wrong (not sure if that's possible), or the part is faulty. The only tailgates I have seen without the damper are the manual only kind.
This is what mine does. The dealer did add the spray in bed liner so maybe they messed it up
If it is of the same or similar design as previous years, you should be able to look up from the bottom of the bed corner on the passenger side to see if it's there. Probably just not installed. There really isn't any way for them to mess it up during a spray in bed liner. They do remove the tailgate but the OEM damper isn't directly attached to the tailgate.
That's what it was. It was there but the top was disconnected. After about an hour of trying to connect it from the bottom I removed the taillight and it popped right back on and good to go. Thanks for all the help guys!
