Hmm...
Maybe the dealer service department could figure out why, like if it was under warranty...

Likely because you don't have the real Power Tailgate, unless you're talking about a KR, Platinum, or Limited... but I have yet to see any of those delivered to customers.

The Power Tailgate goes up on its own, has parking sensors and a camera built-in for use with the tailgate down. If you have a Lariat or below, you don't have a Power Tailgate.

I have a Lariat

Press the button twice, tailgate drops.

Thats all it does.

You have to close it manually

I have a Lariat, you pull out on the handle, and if you let it, the tailgate drops, with a bang!
To close you lift it up.
Check the OP's post count.

There's a handle on my tailgate???

I thought that was too much "work" to use anymore so there was just a button in the faux handle.

I keep grabbing for the handle when I am backing up to hook up and pressing that button over and over before the tailgate pops.

Hate all the electro-crap

There is no handle on the 23’s. Here is either messing with you or confused. Power release only for your truck.

If you have 2023 Lariat Ultimate package, you have the camera on top of the tailgate. No idea if you have a power tailgate.

I have a lariat with the ultimate package model year 2023 and do not have the camera and sensors in the top of my tailgate.

Are you sure the Lariat come with the tailgate down camera? I got pro trailer, 360 camera, ultimate with adaptive cruise heads up display, and lane keeping assist.

Gosh, I hope so! I was thinking it would. My dealer told me it would, but we all know how that goes.

That feature looks useful. When we camp, the tailgate it always down it seems. With tons of kids and dogs all around, I want all the safety features I can find. Plus hooking up to gooseneck it would be nice to have the sensors, but not needed. I like the in bed camera.

Thank you very much.

I hate that Ford limits options such as this. I can afford a King Ranch Or Platinum but I doubt I will ever pay that much extra for badging and leather. Dip****s. I want massaging seats too. Dbags.

Thanks and sorry for the language.
