Trying to get the AC compressor to take a charge but it won't stay engaged.

It's completely normal for it to short-cycle while charging until an adequate amount of refrigerant gets into the system. Usually, the "on" cycle time will gradually increase as the charge increases.

A common "cheat" is to jumper the low pressure cycling switch to force the clutch to stay engaged for faster charging.

I figured it out. It wouldn't engage when I jumped the low pressure or high pressure, but would engage when I jumped the relay. I ran diagnostic on my truck found that the cylinder head temp was malfunctioning. Replaced that and AC works again. Thank you
