I have a cam phaser issue on a 2006 F150 5.4 L. I am thinking of changing to the solid phasers and I am told it will require programming. I have looked on the Forscan site for some info but do not see anything. Does someone out there know if there is something on Forscan that I missed? Thanks for any response.
FORSCAN doesn’t deal with that. You need to burn a few hundred more bones for a tuner.
In any case, if you’re actually going to do an all out timing job, you’re going to be set if you get all the updated parts. That makes lockouts pointless.
If you’ve gotten to the point that internal wear is bad enough, you’re still wasting money on lockouts. You need a remanned engine at that point.
