How To Disable Window "Auto" Function

Is there a way to disable the "Auto" feature on power windows for 2013 STX? I've read the manual about how to stop the auto function by holding the switch but that only lasts until the next time I use the switch. I don't like auto-roll and want to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

2 ways of doing that.

Operate the window control switch in one-touch mode and remove power from the window motor while the window is moving by one of the following methods: Disconnect the vehicle battery cable while the window is moving. Remove the LH or RH front window motor fuse while the window is moving.

Or replace the window motor. Obviously the easiest and cheapest thing to do is have a helper pull the fuse while you operate the window you want the one touch to stop working.

Fuse panel is part of the BCM passenger side kick panel.

F1 = Left front
F3 = Right front

Simplest way to me is only operate the switch to the first click. When you release it the window stops. Doesn't seem that hard to me.

Thank You Guys! Very Much! I just got this "new to me" pickup a few weeks back and this has been driving me crazy. I've been driving Rangers with roll up windows for so long technology passed me by on this several years ago. My last full size was a '72' F100.

Smile

I didn't know about how this worked until rbentnail informed me. Not having electric windows for 20 years I sort of fell behind in the "tech" department.

My first truck was a '74 F100 I had for 22 years, then a '97 F150 for 20 years, neither had power windows. So after those 42 years, this '12 F150 STX is like a spaceship with all the power stuff.

Thumbs up

Welcome to the New Age huh? I had an 89 Bronco for about 3 yrs and worked on the power windows till I knew them by heart. Hence my attraction to the tried and true crank. And yeah, I'm liking my used
2013 STX a lot too.

I've been tempted to deinitialize both my windows to stop that auto up/down feature. Sometimes when I park I like to crack the windows just a little bit so that air will circulate but not too low so that the vent shades will keep rain out, and I get it just about where I want it and press the damned button a little too far and zooop there it goes. gotta start over.

1st world problems.
