Auto up are dangerous since they could be triggered with a head or a hand in the window. My Cadillac Catera has auto down on both front windows and I like the feature, I'll probably look at the after market unit sometime soon.
Ford is running slow on this, still not using the Lift to Raise switches, my Avalanche and our Cadillac both have those, though I do prefer the Ford switches. But the auto down feature is very nice. The sunroof on my F350 has an auto open.
I believe it's in 2006 that the law is being changed, causing Ford to change their swtiches. To many kids have leaned on the rocker and gotten injured.

I also prefer the rocker switches also and I hate the auto down button.
I'm glad it is only on the drivers window but wish it wasn't on any window.
It won't happen unless they get enough people asking for it. It's all about the bottom line. I have to say I would rather Ford put the money into better door locks before they make a different window switch. Those door locks are a pain to change out.
Yes I agree. My mom's benz had auto up/down for all 4 windows, plus the moonroof. Also it has a sensor in them as well. I.E. if it senced that something was in the way of the window while it was going up, it would automatically stop. Cool feature
