For the past 2 weeks truck has been shuddering/lurching when i get into od/5th gear..bit as soon as trans temps get to 150 it quits.. just put 2 fresh batteries in and oil and fuel filter changes..all motorcraft items..atlas 40 ficm from ed. When i release throttle during shuddering it stops the lurch..i know it is not u joints or ball joints..only in 5th gear everything else shifts smooth and solid...i guess i am going to try to cold flush and filter with motorcraft SP..any suggestions before the flush? All solenoids are stock (as far as i know) thanks in advance
i only have tourque pro..it had a cyl 6 contribution code..but i cleared them and no re occurrence after that(500 miles ago)...just weird that it only does it in 5th/od..pulls great up until then..even if i kick it down it stops immediately.. no misfire counts either.. i may have to get forscan..seens to be a better diagnostic tool
It is a bit better at pulling all the codes than Torque pro - IMO anyway. Transmission codes are the ones that it seems are hard for most code readers.
If you get the full version (Windows PC), you can command actuators.
Unfortunately injector problems don't always throw codes, but ForScan might pick one up! Too bad that IDS is the only one that can do uncompensated contribution testing.
My 6.0 Excursion had those exact same symptoms when an injector started going out. I could hit the tow/ haul button and it would smooth out. Replaced the one failing injector and never had it happen again.

I appreciate all the input from you pro's..i guess i will have to start sourcing some injectors.. Ford wants 600 dollars for 1 ..way out of my budget? Any reliable online shops you guys trust for new/remaned injectors?? Tia
Autonation in WBL is a Ford dealer, last I checked they had Ford remans for under $200 each. Ford seems to have a good track record with injectors. Stay away from Amazon or eBay, never sure what you are getting even if the say genuine Ford.
Lots of counterfeit products around.

for sure..i will check it out..never ebay for any so called genuine motorcraft products..appreciate the input
Any of the major retailers are probably alright, but like mentioned above stay away from Amazon and eBay, probably the cheapest would be Rock Auto if I had to guess.
There is a diesel shop near me that has some special discount with Ford and they get parts delivered to them from the area Ford dealerships daily. I asked the owner if he'd sell me parts at his price plus a small markup to make it worth his while and he said sure. So I get most of my genuine Ford parts from them, they sell them to me at their cost plus 5%, but if I'm paying with a credit card its plus 8% (because of the 3% credit card transaction fee) so usually it involves a trip to the ATM as well. While not drastically cheaper than internet ordering, it does support a local business and I'm pretty sure I'm getting genuine parts.

Pure Power is the OEM manufacturer. These are the good ones. These are the ones I plan on buying if my original injectors EVER decide to start acting up.
