I have a 2002 Ex Limited Ultimate with the TD and the fancy outside temp guage never seems to display right. This is the display that is integrated with the AC/Heater controls... all digial no *****..
My 2000 XLT had the temp guage up in the overhead console and it seemed to read correct at all times.
My service advisor said the temp sensor in under the hood (good place huh?) and that it will update as soon as you drive... well it don't.
Anybody see the same issue???? If so I will ignore, if not then I will try and have it fixed again.
I have the same vehicle and have good experiences with the outside temp reading. I know when you get into city driving it will tend to show a little warmer, all that stop and go stuff. Does your reading change when you toggle it from inside to outside? Maybe a defective switch.
I have not seen any consistant issues... like yesterday here in Phoenix on the drive home it read 68* for probably 5-7 mins before it started to go up... and it was over 90* at the time...
Didn't read a proper temp until 20min later when I got close to home...
