23 Order Help

Went to the dealer today and tried building a 350 XLT with the sport and premium package. Ford won't build it due to the running board shortage for the sport package. I can get the black appearance package but wanted to keep 18" wheels and liked the rims and grill color better on the sport.

Went to go build a 350 stx with the sport and requires the 6.8L gas where I want the 7.3L gas. Ford.com forces the 7.3L with the stx package so not sure why ford ordering system is showing differently.

You might need to call a dealer and see if they can override an option, else you are SOL.

The fact that you cannnot order an XL with 7.3 without STX and advanced driving package dissuade me from ordering one this year to see if for a future MY they come to their sense and allow people to get a 7.3 4wd for under 60k.

I don't think you can get the stx and the sport package together. Isn't the sport only optioned on the higher trims? Personally, I think the stx w/ 7.3L is hard to beat for what it comes with and looks just as good.

The dealer sys there is a supply constraint on Sport package running boards? Have you verified this elsewhere?

The second build is not an option, you can't build a 350 with STX and Sport. STX is an XL package and Sport is an XLT and Lariat package. Build and price seems to allow an F-350 XL with STX and 7.3l build right now.

For the XL my bad just trying to get the 7.3L and the STX package. This gives me the blacked out look with the led reflector head lights.

For the XLT sport override would that just be for 1 option or the whole package?

Otherwise I'm looking at a base XLT without premium or sport packages. Hesitant on the XLT BAP wanted 18" tires and think the 20" rims they force would of been better. The optional grey 20" wheels look between but is only an option for the sport package.

I just built a 2023 STX and added the 7.3L engine option no problem on the Ford Build & Price site.

Did the same thing at the dealership. On the 250 ford.com allows both the 6.8 or 7.3 to be selected.

Does anyone know what code W3B stands for? Have a feeling dealer may of selected a 250 and not the 350.

250 and 350 shouldn't matter for the STX package. It does sound like it could be dealer error contributing to this confusion.

Build it exactly how you want it and save the build as a PDF and send to your dealer. That should make it easy for them.

Thanks for the doc confirmed the right truck was selected at least.

Yea that's what I did, was even in the office when the dealer was building via the ford ordering software and saw the error messages. Was hoping someone would have some insights how to get it to work correctly or if there is a special selection order/process to get it.

By chance can any one else confirm the sport appearance package on the XLT is on hold due the the running boards?

Doubt it but if ford would allow that to be omitted from the build I would be ok with it.
