However, for most of my life, my labor went towards other folks needs. I did get paid for most of it, but now my laborious efforts are for me and my family. Unfortunately, I am not as fast as I was when I was young. I have to make up for it with skill and knowledge.
oscar1955, I see the pictures of the gas tank installed on a TCI frame and looking to do the same. I have a 1956 f100 pro touring frame and trying to figure out how to do the something like yours, can you send more pictures of the straps of how there mounted and what's preventing the tank from coming up with no top straps to prevent that. I have looked at the code 504 mounting kit (100$ eBay) although it's for a Chevy TCI frame but should work. I would greatly appreciate it. thanks,
I'm just now seeing this thread. Welcome to FTE, congrats on your retirement, and post some pictures of what you have.

So, have you got your plans set to go to Truckstock the first weekend of October? You don't need your truck, there will be plenty to ride in for those that don't bring theirs. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...g-nov-5-a.html

I do not know the differences in mounting kits, but I think a Chevy frame may be wider. If they mount the same, then maybe you just need to cut it down and weld it in?
The idea for mounting the gas tank this way came from one of the Classic truck magazines from a few years back. The article used a stainless steel tank, but I went with the coated tank. I’ll paint it when I decide on a color.
Thanks for the previous info on the gas tank moving to the rear of the TCI pro touring frame! Got it solved and will try and post pictures later. The next thing is what headers to use?... I have the TCI pro tour frame as you know, but installing a Ford 302( 347 actually) engine and have the Ford mustang 2 rack and pinion and trying to find what headers to use without interference with the steering, also the frame has a 3" drop and have to use long tube or possibly mid length headers with the recommendations from Phoenix engines. I'm trying to get the right headers the first time so I don't have to keep returning them. I hope it's not going to be trial and error. Any input would be a big help. Summit racing is the closest for me to purchase and have asked them but they said to ask TCI, but puting this out there and hopefully someone has done something like this before. Here's my gas tank setup. I have the first universal knuckle from Borgeous.
I have a different set up but what I did was to install the motor and then measure the space I had. I used Sanderson Headers. They have dimensions on their website so that helped. Ended up calling them to ensure things were correct.
