I have a 2005 Ford F 350 super duty Quad cab diesel truck. Would like to install or have an installer put a kill switch in (ignition bypass) . Any recommendations as to type/brand of switch, where to have this done, ease of installing it myself vs paying someone, etc. Thank you for any help you can give me.
You might have a few wires to connect under the dash, like for the clock. or you could disconnect the main wire to the starter and put this inline, get all the functions but the starter won't spin unless you unlock it.
I did one myself on a buddy’s truck it took about 2 hours but I was very meticulous. I got all the materials from oreillys (wire, switch, ect.) it was not a difficult job and can definitely be done yourself, just find a good hiding place. Make sure the wire and switch are rated to handle the load (I believe 30 amps).
