6.4 cat removal question

I’ve got a 2008 F250 with the 6.4 and I’m throwing a PO420 for catalyst system efficiency below threshold. My question is can I open the cat up and either drill out the core entirely or even just drill a few holes through it? I have done it on some of my older trucks but I’m new to the 6.4 and I’ve searched all over the internet and all I get is 100 different opinions but nobody who has done it. I’d like to remove it or core it out but I don’t want to get a tuner for it. I’m just looking to trade the truck in and want to get rid of the check engine light. Anyone deleted the 6.4 cat WITHOUT a tuner? Did it work? Thank you in advance to anyone who answers. Side note, we do NOT have emissions here at all so that is t an issue either. I just gotta get rid of this check engine light.

Doesnt matter what local emissions are, it is illegal on a federal level. You wont be able to get rid of the code without tuning (which will cause issues with the DPF still being in place) which is not easy to find as the EPA has come down on all the tuners. Either have it repaired, or trade it in as is. Dont be a dirtbag by hiding a problem that is only going to screw the next guy. Be better than that.
