check engine light with no cat

i just bought an 05 350 and i want to take the cat off because its useless and im wondering if the check engine light can be bypassed by a mechanic if i take the cat out and the light comes on. i have the banks monster exxhaust on it and im looking for a louder sound so if i take the cat out and leave the banks will it make a difference or do i need to take everything off?

the CEL will not come on if you remove the cat. there is no way the computer will know that it is gone. we do not have O2 sensors to be able to tell the computer any differently. i removed my cat about a year ago and never got a CEL or any codes and i've got an '06.

the only difference will be sound and better EGT's. the turbo will whistle a little more and you'll probably hear a little bit of a better grunt and the turbo will whistle louder when you get up and go. that's about it.
