I have a 1995 Bronco 5.0 with 112,000 miles on it. I was having the common transmission problems that are described in this forum:
Hard shifts, OD light blinking on and off, etc...
First, I had tranny maitenance done. New fluids, filter, etc. It worked fine for a couple of days, but then the same problems occurred again.
Then I had the tranny rebuilt (they did replace the solenoid pack). I can tell the difference in the shifts. If feels more "solid". However, the same problems are ocurring again! Here are the exact symptoms:
1. It seems to mainly occur when I am cruising about 70 MPH. The RPMs will start to increase while my speed decreases.
2. The OD light will begin blinking.
3. The hard shifts occur.
At this point (assuming my tranny was REALLY rebuilt), it has to be a sensor or a PCM problem.
Does this sound familiar?
Do you think its a PSOM problem?
What does the PSOM look like? I think I should replace it...
Any ideas?
go by any autoparts store and have them pull the codes, if the tranny is having problems it will show up a code. Your ecu may be going out to. check your fluid make sure its full. smell it, if it stinks like rotten eggs you have a problem or if its all bubblie on the dip stick. just because a tranny was just rebuilt doesnt mean it wont fail just as fast. What size tires are you running?
