Years ago I had a tool that was made just to latch and unlatch these this type of brake shoe springs.
It made the job real easy.
Deon anyone know the name of it or where I can get one?
I can't seem to find one.
I'm interested to see this tool. I have a drawer of brake tools in my toolbox that was my fathers, but I've only used a couple in all the brake jobs I've ever done.

YES!! I am sure that's what I'm looking for.
When I first saw the picture I remember having one.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
It makes taking those springs off easy as pie. What ever that means.
i didn't know there was a tool for this... i always looped them in the backing plate then grabbed the inside of the hook with a pair of linemans and pushed... the bent pin thing that holds it in would slide right over no problem.

The tool has been discontinued.
It makes the job 10 times easier.
I just went back to eBay, probably the last one for sale, $73.38 with shipping.
At first I thought you were looking for this one, used it in the Marines, had one for the longest time, not sure where it went, going to get a new one, as my 77 is due for brake rehab.

Those plier brake tools and the round end on a handle spring tool are the only tools I think I've ever used on any brake job, but I don't remember how those pliers would've worked on the springs you posted. It's been so long since I touched the brakes on my truck I probably just don't remember fighting with those...lol.
