Is there a washer on the lower balljoint

Washer on lower ball joint? I just got around to putting my truck back together after installing ball joints. I don't remember there being one but there's a big washer laying beside the knuckle on the floor I remember just the nut going on the inside of the I beam where the lower ball joint comes through.that kind of has a washer welded in

Without a picture of the washer you found, it's tough to say
There was no washer on the lower ball joint other than the welded in the axle one
Some aftermarket ball joints do come with a washer meant for the threads side
They are to be used if the knuckle had a loose nut and has worn the tapered seat
That allows the stud to be pulled up into the knuckle too far
So, they give you a big washer to enable you to tighten the nut correctly
It allows the stud to be pulled through and be tight instead of bottoming out the nut and have the stud still loose in the knuckle
Good luck

I would leave that washer off
It is not the style that comes with a new ball joint
They are not as big in diameter and are barely bigger than the nut
