2018 Keyless Lock Pad

Hi all - I usually post in the other part of the forum about my 77 Ford F100, not sure if this has been shared before but here it goes.

I own a 2018 F150 Platinum and when driving down the road I heard a slight rattle. I come to find out that the Keyless Lock Pad had detached from where it is mounted on the side of the door. I took a real shortcut to fix the issue. I looked the part up online and could see where the metal retaining clip was missing and broken off on mine versus the online photos. So I looked up the part online (FL3Z14A626-AD). It appears I had to buy the entire switch to fix the broken piece. Here is the real shortcut for people. After looking at the switch I realized I could carefully pry the cover from around the switch itself since it still worked. This saved me from having to pull the door apart to replace the entire switch which was a real-time saver. The fix took 15 minutes. I hope this helps others.

Patrick - TX

Thanks for that Patrick. Mine has developed a rattle there too. I figured one day I would get around to it, as I only hear it when the radio is off. But now I'll get to it, as this is an easy fix.

Now, I wonder if the clip can be pulled from the door and put back on the keypad, or if I could use some 3m double sided automotive mounting tape.
