Long time with no update - been working quite a bit on my son's truck. But, I got to get out this weekend and do some work on the '77. The majority of the passenger floorboard is in place. I still have some more spots to fill and then start smoothing.
I also ordered rebuild kits for the NP435 and NP205. I started tearing down and cleaning the NP435 this weekend.
Can you post up where you got the rebuild kits and their quality? I might or might not be doing this in my rebuild. Both np435 and 205 worked ok before tear down, and I have enough on the plate. Plus, they are easily removed after completion if I find I do need to rebuild one or the other. Thanks

I got the rebuild kit's from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard, but it looks like they are sourced from USA Standard gear. I'll get back to you on quality after I install. I don't know that I "needed" a rebuild - but the pieces are out, and I have had good luck with rebuild kits from Jeff's in the past (although they were sourced from a different company back then), so I figured I'd just go ahead and do it.
One thing that I have read about is the quality or lack of quality with "full rebuild" kit syncro materials. My syncros looked pretty good, so I just went with the basic rebuild kit on the NP435.
Most kits of any kind on JBG is sourced from one or more companies. I bought a 4" lift from them once and it came with four different brands of components. No big deal really, As long as it works and not cheap Chinesium garbage. They are pretty good about sell at least half decent products.
Way too long without an update. Life has been pretty busy, and I have been spending a fair amount of time working on my son's Bullnose. We finally buttoned that up a few days ago (for now), so I got to do some more work on the '77. The NP435 rebuild is basically complete. I just have to throw the top seal on and cinch it down. I'll throw another coat of paint on it as well. Transfer case is up next, along with more body work.
Finally got to work on this project some more. I finished up the floor pan repair for now. Also buttoned up the transmission. I dove into the passenger side rear quarter. Looks like Grandpa found some scrap steel and cut out the rusted stuff (including part of the inner fender well), and then screwed the replacement panel into place, filled it with filler, and primed over it. I cut out all of that stuff, and now ordered a replacement inner well. Good to be working on the '77 again. Too many projects. ;-)
