So, my 2019 XLT SCREW recently updated and worked fine for about 2 months. About two weeks ago, it decided it would stop keeping certain settings (night mode, touchscreen beep off, last channel listened to).
I get in now after it sits all night and the touchscreen beep is on, its on "auto" mode versus night, and always on FM radio when I exclusively listen to carplay or SiriusXM. I had the battery checked because it was the original and some things like auto start/stop weren't working. Battery showed "going bad" so replaced it and the start/stop works fine. I've done two master resets and the power/fwd buttons to reset as well, no luck! Could the APIM be going out? I'd like to think I'd have worse issues if so, or is the update just bugged perhaps? What am I missing here?

Tried BMS reset and the battery was almost $300 so it better be AGM. It is what came up for the truck when the make/model etc was entered (die hard brand). If it is the APIM, a quick search shows it to be a $900 part. I can't see something lasting 4-5 years that is this vital to the truck costing this much. If it goes out I'll def go aftermarket so I wont have to worry about it in another 4 years.

Also ask the Ford dealer if Ford Corporate can "cooperate" on a replacement for less than retail. It's a well known failure issue. I don't think there are many companies that make these things.
Anybody find a fix for this yet? It is getting annoying.
The fix is in all likelihood a new APIM. $300 to $500 depending where you get it from. Plus a couple of those plastic tools to pry the top of the dash apart.
APIMs on Sync3 are a huge pain in the ***, high failure rate. You might want to go to Crutchfield or you local car stereo shop and see what aftermarket options there are.

The Sync 3 doesn't leave you with much options. And what those options are costs more than a new APIM.
