Heater box questions / sources...?

Looking for some help on this heater box from my '62 F100.
What goes in the gap between the heater box and the kick panel opening?
And does anyone know of a source for heater box parts? Salvage yards have been a bust, heater boxed are either gone or in worse condition.

Thought I'd share this with you in the event you're unable to locate these.

16g 3/4" strip to reinforce the duct assembly.

I wish I had photos, but I purchased a $30 fiberglass repair kit on Amazon to fix the cracks and fill the gaps.

Reinforced the back.

Used Gorilla tape around the frame of the duct connector.

This isn't for everyone, but if this helps, awesome.

Replacement parts are nowhere to be found, looks like I'll be removing and repairing similar to your process...

TWO different heaters used 1961/64: Fresh Air and Recirculating.

OP has the Fresh Air Heater.

This ebay heater looks like the recirculating type, that draws in air from inside the cab.

The parts that the OP needs are not shown in these heater pics.
