Strange Steering Problems

Heyo peeps, im back again for some truck help as this place is helpful. Im in my 06 f250 SD and something with the steering is being weird. Only if I turn right sharply (like turning onto a street) the truck begins to pull to the left and so I have to start turning the wheel right to counter it. After turning right for a bit it the steering will feel like a pop, like turning a dial that will pop when you turn it past a certain point, and then the truck will then get thrown to the right as i was turning right. It gets super bad when speeding up to get onto the highway and it looks like its trying to get death wobble. I replaced the stabilizer shock cause it was toast but it still having the problem. Im not sure what it might be without shooting the parts canon, any help is appreciated!

Get it up in the air and check the tie rods, sounds like they're wore, but it could also be the steering box is shot.

Ball joints or hub bearings. If it's as bad as you're describing it, it's about to come apart and you shouldn't drive it until you get it figured out. Either of those let go when you're driving and it's gonna cause alot more damage, and maybe kill you depending how fast you're going. We had a truck come to our shop that did a half dozen end over end flips at highway speeds when the wheel bearing let go and the front end dug into the ground. Driver got tossed after the 3rd or 4th flip and was picked up with a shovel.

might be the steering box like Mike1 said. I lifted the truck and looked under and both tie rods are fine and the wheel bearings have no play and spin fine so I aint worried about a wheel flying off.

Could be axle u-joints if 4wd. Otherwise, yeah, ball joints or maybe wheel bearings

How much mechanical experience do you have? How did you check the tie rods and bearings?

I'm gonna sound like an A.H, but the fact you threw a stabilizer on it first makes me question whether you know how to diagnose something like this. I've got 30yrs experience and still miss bad parts if they are just borderline and not flopping around obvious. Either one of those could be at the limits of it's service but not show it until the full weight/load of the vehicle is on it.

You need to jack it up, get under it with a big pry par and start prying on stuff to figure out what's moving. Also have someone steer it back and forth while it's up on jacks and your under it to look for loose parts.
