Im new to carburetors, still learning, I'm not getting any fuel to the carburetor even after changing the fuel pump and the sending unit any idea what I might need to do?
You did use new rubber hode and if so what size?
I can tell you using 3/8 hose from pump to can on fender it will not pull fuel even with 2 clamps.
It uses 5/16 hose at tank & at pump.

When I read that you changed the fuel pump and sending unit in the same breath I wonder which fuel pump do you have?
I'm not sure but some later model bullnoses used EFI. The 4.9 may have been built with a carb all the way through 86, but at some year it went EFI. What type of fuel pump did you replace? Even some carb 4.9's may have switched from mechanical to electric fuel pumps because of vapor lock. The two Daves will know which years are which. I expect we'll hear from them. Anyway it will help to diagnose your issue knowing which fuel pump you are talking about.

All 80 - 86 4.9 motors used a mechanical motor driven pump and carb.
83 - 86 the carb went feedback controled by a computer.
87 the 4.9 went EFI till the end.

Is there an inline fuel filter that could be clogged?
I am pretty sure the factory one screws into the carb that the fuel line connects to.
There could be another that a PO installed before or after the pump.

Usually a clogged fuel filter slows fuel production which can affect performance prompting a filter replacement. While renewing the filter is a good idea getting no fuel to the carb may point to a bad fuel pump. If the tank is full of rust then a filter could be completely plugged but performance of the engine would have suffered getting there. When replacing the sending unit was the tank removed, inspected and cleaned out?
Most factory fuel filters have a spring behind the filter. When it clogs the pressure from the pump pushes the filter back and lets fuel go around the filter.
