Below are pics of batteries with connectors. These batteries are new as of today. No corrosion around rings. The passenger side has pig tails to quick connect to charger and drivers side goes to a relay switched off the customer accessories that powers a motorcycle style dash cam, and power fold mirrors 2.5 or 5 amp fuse is the fuse holder pictured. I pulled that relay when this started and it didn't change anything. No lines are shorted (voltmeter looking for continuity to ground)
Not going to get a picture of doing the parasitic draw test but trust I have 1 battery disconnected (both positive and negitive posts) at a time and with the other one I am bridging the Cable to the post (-) with the multimeter. 25 milliamps draw.
Also glow plug controller and alternator don't appear to be much hotter than rest of engine bay both after turning off and after an hour or so.
Two things I noticed on the second pic of the passenger side battery:
1 Isn't there a ground from the battery to the body? I didn't see one.
2 Maybe something has been changed on the positive side in regards to the cable begin the alternator and battery. Yours does that sharp bend.towrds the front of the truck first. I know on mine it goes towards the AC box first then loops around to the alternator.

Sure... if you want to call a dash cam and a battery charger hook up mods... the "mod" on the negitive side is a ground to the passenger fender, looks stock but dont quote me on that. According to the below like my GPCM is pointed in the manner of a late 04 or newer style so maybe they also re routed battery cables?
I'll give you the mirrors are a mod but I think that one is pretty mainstream and easily taken out of the equation by pulling the relay unless.
Here are more pics of the passengers side battery. I am not the first owner so it's possible something is rewired, let me know so i can see of that is this gremlin. I have not changed anything Cable wise.
Very well could be the battery exchanged solves it and it was just an intermittent shot in a cell(is that possible?) But I'll give it a couple of weeks before saying it's cured.
Yeah, it is possible that a battery could have been the issue. But weird that you would have a good voltage that dropped so drastically when going to wait-to-start.
