Died while driving.
She googled the possible problems and tried turning the key on then off etc, and then leaving the key on for 10-15 minutes. After she did that it started back up but only ran for less than 1/2 a mile before it died again. That is when I got there and was able to tow it home.
The next day I scanned it and got a p0562 low voltage code. I tried to start it but it was dead and would just click when turning it over.
The low voltage code would make me think the alt or batteries are bad, however it makes me confused how it was able to crank over on the side of the freeway and then start and drive for a little bit.
Where do I start looking for the problem?
Low system voltage would make me think a bad alternator/battery. However that cranking/driving makes it feel like a bad ground maybe? Corrosion on the battery?
I just took the battery charger off and tested the batteries and got 13.3 volts. I started the truck and then it fell to 12.3. then after just a little bit it went up to 14.3 volts. turned on the defrost, stereo, and head lights and was still 14.3 volts. I shut down the truck and retested the batteries and got 12.9 volts the longer i held the volt meter on the batteries the more the voltage would drop. I forgot I had left the door open so i shut it and then tested again. This time the volts were going up from 12.5 volts
I had the same symptom of random stalls, but I don't remember if I had an engine code. It was worse when it got wet..
I fixed mine by wrapping some mastic tape around the harness.
Also, recently my starter was dragging when it cranked. I cleaned all the connections on the batteries and noticed the power lead on the alternator was showing signs of heat. I took that apart and cleaned it and now it starts like I have new batteries.
I think your low voltage may be a secondary problem. Sounds like a loose connection or a short.

Have you looked at the cam position sensor? My dads truck used to quit randomly and that was the cause.
